Privacy
Short version: we don't sell anything about you, we don't show ads, and we only keep what you choose to send us. The details are below.
What we collect
- Taps and searches. We count how many times a listing's Call, Email, Website, Facebook or Instagram button is tapped, and which services people search for in each county, as simple daily totals. They don't include your name, IP address or anything that identifies you. Taps are also counted in Google Analytics, with the business and the page they came from but nothing about you.
- Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. It records your approximate location (city level), your device and browser, how you arrived (the referring site or campaign), which pages you view and how long you spend on them. It also notes when a listing or coming-soon form is sent, but not what you typed. Before a page is recorded, we take any ZIP code, town or location you searched for out of its address. We have turned off its advertising features, so we don't use it to show you ads. How Google uses this data. We also use Cloudflare's visit counts, which don't use cookies.
- Your location. If you tap Use my location, your browser shares your approximate location once so we can find your county. We don't store it.
- Listing form. If you send the listing form, we keep what you type, plus your browser type and the country your connection comes from (like “US”) to help spot spam, so we can add or update your listing and reach you about it. If you ask us to tell you when your state opens, we keep what you type in the same way.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address so we can reply. We don't add you to a mailing list.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies of our own. The only cookies on our site are the Google Analytics visit counters, named _ga and _ga_2DBFCGGJTR. They last up to 2 years. To turn Google Analytics off on every site you visit, you can install Google's opt-out add-on. If Cloudflare ever needs to check that a visitor is a person and not a bot, it may set a short-lived security cookie for that check.
If we email you about your listing, every email has an unsubscribe link and our mailing address.
Who runs the site
Our site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Google processes the visit statistics. We don't sell or share information with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Children
Farm and Farrier is meant for adults looking for farm and animal services. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Links to businesses
When you follow a link to a business's own website or social page, that site's own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep it
We keep listing-form details while your listing is on the site and for one year after it comes off, then delete them. If you sign up to hear when your state opens, we keep your email until we've told you, then delete it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email we send in one click. To have your listing details or a coming-soon sign-up removed, use the listing form and choose “Remove my listing”, or email us. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; the site works the same without them.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the date below.
